  2. 2Pick marketplace & partner tag
  3. 3Run and see exactly what fails
1 Credentials

From Associates Central → Tools → Creators API. Stays in this tab (see privacy).

2 Marketplace
3 Request

Fetches a token and sends one tiny SearchItems request (1 result, title only). Tells you separately whether the credentials, the API access and the partner tag work.

Response

Start with Test credentials

It checks three things separately and costs one token request plus one API call:

  • 1Access tokenAre Credential ID, Secret and Version correct?
  • 2API accessDoes the account meet the eligibility rules?
  • 3Partner tagIs the tag valid for the selected marketplace?

Then try GetItems or SearchItems. The summary, raw JSON and code appear here.

Know what's wrong in one click

A failed request can have three causes: wrong credentials, an account without API access, or a wrong partner tag. The credential test checks all three separately, for the cost of one API call.

Every error in plain English

From InvalidPartnerTag to AssociateNotEligible: each error links to its page in the error lexiconwith the cause and a step-by-step fix.

Copy-ready code

Once a request works, copy it as cURL, PHP or JavaScript. Token handling is included and your credentials are replaced by placeholders, so the snippet is safe to share.

An Amazon API scratchpad for the Creators API

Since Amazon shut down PA-API 5.0 on May 15, 2026, every affiliate integration has to use the Amazon Creators API, with new credentials, access tokens and new error codes. The Scratchpad lets you try it all with real requests before you write a single line of code, and shows you exactly where a setup breaks.

  • Developers see real requests and responses for every operation before they build a plugin or app.
  • Site owners check in one click whether new credentials and the partner tag work.
  • Support teams reproduce a customer's error and link straight to the fix.

Privacy: what happens with your credentials

  • No server in between. Your browser sends every request straight to Amazon: the login to Amazon's token endpoint, the API call to creatorsapi.amazon. We do not run a proxy.
  • Only used for your test. Your credentials are used for the requests you start, nothing else. We never see, store or log them: no database, no accounts, no cookies.
  • Never in URLs. Credentials only travel inside the request, never in a web address. The only URL parameter is the marketplace, which the API needs to accept requests from a browser.
  • Gone when you close the tab. Access tokens only live in the page's memory. "Remember for this tab" is off by default; if you turn it on, your entries are kept until you close the tab, never longer.
  • Locked to Amazon. A strict Content Security Policy tells your browser which addresses this page may talk to: Amazon's official login and API endpoints, plus our cookie-free page statistics, which never receive your credentials. Every other destination is blocked.
  • Check it yourself. Open your browser's network tab while you run a request. You will see exactly the calls listed here. Privacy policy

Amazon Creators API FAQ

What is the Amazon Creators API?

The Amazon Creators API is how Amazon Associates get product data (titles, images, prices, availability) into their own sites and apps. It replaced the Product Advertising API 5.0 (PA-API), which Amazon shut down on May 15, 2026. It has four operations: GetItems, SearchItems, GetVariations and GetBrowseNodes.

What is the Amazon API Scratchpad?

A web form for the Amazon Creators API: you enter your credentials, pick an operation and send a real request to Amazon. You see the raw response and a readable summary. If something fails, you also see what the error means and how to fix it. It is free and needs no sign-up.

Which credentials do I need?

Three values from Associates Central → Tools → Creators API: Credential ID, Credential Secret and Version (3.1, 3.2 or 3.3). You also need a partner tag (your store ID or a tracking ID) for the marketplace you want to call. Old PA-API 5.0 access keys do not work with the new API.

Why does my request fail with AssociateNotEligible?

Your credentials are fine, but Amazon does not let your account use the API right now. You need 10 qualified sales in the last 30 days. The Scratchpad shows this as "Credentials valid, account not eligible", so you know it is not a setup mistake.

Are my credentials stored or sent to this site?

No. The Scratchpad runs in your browser and sends your requests straight to Amazon. There is no server, proxy, database or log on our side that could see your credentials.

How many requests does a credential test use?

One token request and one SearchItems call with a single result. After that, the token is reused for an hour, and the Scratchpad never sends more than about one request per second. That is well within the limit of new accounts.

Which marketplaces are supported?

All 22 Amazon marketplaces the Creators API offers, from amazon.com and amazon.de to amazon.co.jp and amazon.com.au. Your credentials work in every marketplace as long as you use a partner tag of that marketplace.
